Let's be honest...most guys aren't all that excited at the thought of getting dressed up and taking engagement pictures or any photos for that matter, but if you think real hard you can find something that will peak his interest and make him just as excited about the pictures as you are.
When she told me how much they love hunting together I knew we were going to include it in their session. He was so excited about it that he even had a few specific shots he wanted. After having some fun in their camo he was more than happy to put his tie on to take a few more formal pics. We had such an amazing time getting to know these two during their engagement session. Want to know a little secret? Isn't the sunset picture above gorgeous? You will never guess where it was taken. A landfill!!! It was Jon and Valaree's idea and I am so glad I agreed to it because this series of photos at this spot are some of my favorite that we have taken to date.

How did the two of you meet?
We became acquainted while Valaree was working nights to make extra cash to pay off her student loans. She was a featured entertainer at local gentlemens club....I've always had a thing for school girl outfits...I like to think I saved her! Ha! Just joking, we met online!!
Tell us about the proposal
Valaree planned a surprise birthday party for me, she invited several of our local friends and reserved us a table at my favorite restaurant. I had already planned to propose that night, I just got to surprise everyone there even more than they surprised me! At the end of the evening, I opened the gifts they brought, then said, "Man , I really appreciate all of this stuff but I didn't get the one thing I was hoping I would get tonight". Of course I got the, dang cous spoiled much, look from everyone at the table!! Then I reached in my pocket and pulled out the ring! She freaked, curled up in a ball, and hid her face! I had to pull her chair out from the table and turn her towards me! I told her that the one thing I wanted most for my birthday was to make sure that I got to spend the rest of my birthday's with her.

She's perfect....(he's so sweet, he must want something. v)
What’s one thing you’re looking forward to in your life-after-marriage together?
Having a hunting partner that I get to smack on the butt!
What do you both enjoy doing together with your free time?
Hunting and camping
What is your favorite memory together?
I'd have to say it would be our first trip to the champaign room.... Ahhh the memories!.... (not hardly...lol v)
I have a lot of great memories with John....it's hard to choose one. Whenever we travel together and we turn up the radio and let the windows down. It always makes me happy that I get to marry this man! v
