Downtown Raleigh has so much to offer any photographer. Every where you look there is a great spot for photos. Nicole and Lamont started their session off at a basketball court where they played a little one on one Love & Basketball style. From there we headed downtown to get a more urban gritty background and finally ended the session with a sunset view of Raleigh's skyline. We had such a great time with Nicole and Lamont and if their wedding at Barclay Villa in July is anything like their engagement session we are going to have some killer images to share this summer. Keep reading to hear a little more about their story and of course see some of their beautiful images.
How did the two of you meet?
It all began 2006....We use to work together and I was Nicole's supervisor :)
Tell us about the proposal
I always promised Nicole that I would give her the world or at least show the world how abundant my love for her is. I always try to think outside the box and make memorable moments with her. I wanted something different yet intriguing. I have yet to see a proposal inside the middle of an actual Mall, so I decided to create that moment for her. This was during the her birthday weekend celebration, so I had a limo pick her up from work, and take her to meet with some of her closest friends at a very exclusive hotel that I arranged for them all to stay at with her. Unbeknownst to Nicole the next day was the day! I setup a spa day and Photo shoot for her and her friends to occupy her until the time was right. I invited friends and family to meet at the mall to witness this moment. After the photo shoot was complete, I had the photographer in on the experience as well, where he left the shoot immediately and met me at the mall. All of Nicole friends stalled her and created a great reason to go to the mall. She had no idea what she was walking into! I had one on my very talented family members(Koury Thompson) waiting in the middle of the mall ready to serenade her to one of our favorite love songs. Once Nicole got close to the center of the mall He let out that amazing sound of singing that attracted nearly every single person in the mall. Nicole was so nervous and ashamed, she didn't know what to do. At a certain point in the song I popped out to greet her and when I looked around from the top of the mall all the way around everyone was standing there watching us. I also was very nervous, but this was that moment that I promised her. The world is watching and I pronounced my love to my woman, asking for her hand in life and she said YES!!
What’s one thing you’re looking forward to in your life-after-marriage together?
Being able to see the world together and grow with GOD as one.
What do you both enjoy doing together with your free time?
Watching movies, Going on dates, Gathering with friends and family, Taking trips
If you could both relocate anywhere in the world – where would it be?
Somewhere warm, where the water is clear an exotic and the skies are clear blue, and the breeze is welcoming.
