Allison + Kai {Expecting} :: NC State Maternity Photos

North Carolina Maternity Photos by AO&JO Photography

Kai and Allison were the Best Man and Maid of Honor in one our favorite 2015 weddings so when our the Bride and Groom, Zach and Ashley, contacted us to gift them a maternity session with us we were over the moon excited. It is such a special honor to be asked to photograph such a special milestone in someone's life and Maternity Photography is my second favorite thing to photography right behind Wedding Photography.

When we started talking to Kai and Allison about their shoot they said they didn't really have a specific idea/theme in mind for the session - they just want a casual, outdoor session that captured this new journey in our life together. We decided that NC State Campus would be the perfect spot for the shoot. The beautiful campus offers so many different options for photos. It was so much fun walking the campus with these two.

To learn more about this adorable couple read below.

Tell us about your hobbies, fun things you do together, favorite sports teams, etc.

Kai and I are huge NC State fans. Kai graduated from NC State, as did his father and grandfather before him...I just kind of married into the Wolfpack craziness! We are season football ticket holders and you can always catch us tailgating right before every home game...though things may change a bit with a little one on the way this year! Even though we aren't season ticket holders for basketball, we are still huge fans and enjoy going to games when we can and having friends over to watch games and hang out.

Aside from sports, another hobby of ours is completing DIY projects around our home. We bought a new house almost two years ago and ever since then we have been coming up with different ideas to make our house a home and more personalized to our style. It is a great way for both of us to express our creative side and it makes us feel accomplished when we see the finished result of our hard work.

What are you most looking forward to with the new baby?

We are most looking forward to growing as a family and becoming new parents. It is a blessing to be able to share your life with your best friend though marriage, so when that marriage comes together to create a part of both of you, it is truly a miracle.

What are you "nervous" about with the new baby coming?

We are most nervous about not knowing what to do...but that's half the fun of becoming a new parent, right? There's no instruction manual!
