Mike & Stephanie's Wedding l Preston Woodall House l Raleigh, NC Wedding Photographer

Mike & Stephanie Blog.jpg

Mike & Stephanie chose a BEAUTIFUL day in January to get married. It wasn't warm by any means, but at least the fountain wasn't frozen like Robert and Karrissa's wedding we did at the Preston Woodall House last January! They chose to have the ceremony inside in the stunning Cora Lily Grand Ballroom. Instead of decorating with tons of flowers, Mike & Stephanie chose to decorate with balloons. They did an amaxing job becasue the ballroom has never looked so fun and festive.

We absolutely LOVE doing weddings at the Preston Woodall House because it has so many beautiful spots where we can shoot. The bridal suite is to die for and the light that comes in the window is a photographers DREAM. In addition to the many spots inside, the garden that surrounds this beautiful bed and breakfast has no shortage of portrait worthy spots. Another reason we LOVE the Preston Woodall House is the three quaint cottages that are offered for the couple to have friends and family stay in as well as a place for the groom to get ready in. With the bride and the groom able to get ready in the same location it cuts out any travel time and we can spend all our time shooting.

We make sure that we spend time with both the bride and the groom during the getting ready part of the day. While every one says it's the Bride's day and it is, she would not be a Bride without her handsome groom. We love when the groom does something different than his groomsman because when taking those group shots of all the guys you want to have no doubt who the groom is. Alot of time grooms will simply wear a different color vest and tie, but Mike took it a step further and went for the white jacket. As you can see it looked AMAZING and totally worked for him. Stephanie chose to go with a stunning strapless dress that had beautiful beading and a train that was just long enough to give some drama to her look as well.

Large bridal parties always make for fun pictures! Mike and Stephanie chose black tuxes for the guys and black gowns for the ladies. Instead of having the ladies carry flowers Stephanie got her ladies beautiful clutches. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this idea! Most bridesmaids dresses do not come with pockets so all the ladies were LOVING these clutches so they could keep their phone and other essentials with them.

Another fun detail was that Stephanie had custom Converse sneakers made for her and her hubby on their special day. She had her new name Mrs. Solomon stitched on the side of hers. Very unique and very fitting for this couple. They are a very athletic couple who enjoy working out together so while Stephanie did wear heels to walk down the aisle she knew they weren't going to last through the night.
