Pastor Francois Youakim l The Last Minute Wedding Officiant l Business Promo Video

March 8, 2014

Back in December at Emily and Matt's Barclay Villa wedding we met Pastor Francois Youakim.  We immediately hit it off and spend much of the night talking about how we knew Emily and Matt and the wedding business in general.  He was just starting his business and after talking with his for just a few minutes you can't help but like him.  He is not like any other Pastor I have met.  A couple times I forgot he was a Pastor and had to quickly change my choice of words, lol.

So our conversation did not end with Emily and Matt's wedding.  We continued to speak after the wedding.  He was nervous about how he sounded in the video because we had him mic'd up for the ceremony.  Most people get nervouse when they know they are being recorded, even Pastors!  You can go check out Emily and Matt's video and you will see Francois had nothing to worry about.  He basically narrated the video and he sounded GREAT!

So there are two important points that I have in writing this post.  First and foremost, NETWORKING IS SO IMPORTANT!  As a photographer I am a very introverted person.  I am confident when I am behind my camera, but when I put it down it is a completely different story.  Wherever you are a wedding, a party, just out in the mall, TALK TO PEOPLE.  You never know who you might be talking with.  It may be a couple or family that may be in need of a photographer or video.  It may be another wedding vendor not only can benefit from a promo video, but can recommend you to their prospective clients also.

wMy secon point is that When you are starting a business it is important to let your clients know who you are.  You can write a paragraph on your website, but an even better way to accomplish this is in video.  With so many businesses out there no matter what kind of business you have it is important to set yourself apart. A promo video is an easy and effective way to accomplish this. We spend a morning with Francois, mic'd him up again and let him tell us who he was, why he wants to be a wedding officiant, how he became a Pastor.  This short video lets his prospective brides get to know Francois before they even sit down and talk with him.
