Barclay Villa truly is a “place where dreams are made.” Driving out to Angier, NC you would never guess what a treasure you are about to stumble upon as you turn onto Park Lane Rd. The absolutely beautiful home resembles that of a historic European castle. From the orchard across the street, to the not one but two fountain pools on the lavish grounds, to room after room that has a castle-like elegance that will make any bride feel like a princess for a day.
And a princess was truly what Emily looked and felt like that day. The bridal suite was just elegant with the large garden tub, the plush canopy bed and the double doors that open up to a large balcony that overlooked one of the fountain pools. Matt was not left out either. The groom’s room is equipped with a pool table to keep the guys busy while waiting for the fairy tale to begin. This entire place is literally a photographers dream. Emily and Matt lucked out in that there wedding day was the weekend after Christmas so the castle was already decorated for the holidays so there was not much that they needed to add except for a beautiful bride and a handsome groom.
Check out the movie trailer we also did for them. We pus this up Monday after the wedding while they were on their honeymoon. All of their friends went crazy thinking they had starred in a new movie!
The ceremony was held inside in the Grand Room because though the sun was shining there was still a chill in the air. The wedding party entered from the side of the room while the bride and her father took the walk down the beautiful large staircase that met up with the center aisle. It was definitely am emotional moment for all, but especial Matt who could not help but shed a tear as Emily’s father escorted her down the staircase to meet him in front of the large fireplace. The ceremony was officiated by Francios Youakim of Last Minute Wedding Officiant. He did a beautiful job of not only aiding Matt and Emily is saying their vows and I do’s but also sharing their incredible story of love with the guests in attendance.
Kudos to the Barclay Villa staff for the quick and smooth turnover of the Grand Room from the ceremony to the reception. All the guests went out to the fountain pool for the cocktail hour while the bridal party and family went out to the grounds for their formal portraits. After the introductions of the bridal party, Matt and Emily had their first dance as husband and wife. They surprised all their guests with a little twist to their dance. A couple minutes in to their dance they broke out with a choreographed dance that ranged from “walk it out” to “cotton-eye joe” to some old school Michael Jackson. Emily and Matt chose a buffet dinner with an Italian flare to it. Absolutely delicious! The reception was filled with many beautiful words that had the couple laughing and crying and laughing again. DJ Colby Engel kept the dance floor full the entire night.
Everyone in attendance would agree that Matt and Emily got their fairy tale wedding. We are truly grateful to have been able to capture their memories on film for them to be able to relive for years to come. With a venue like the Barclay Villa and a couple like Matt & Emily our job was not only fun, but easy!
